• Beta Sinclair, my adoptive father, was the only one who was good to me in the Sinclair family. His work demanded he travel a lot but all the times he was home, I never felt I was a stranger in the Sinclair house. He treated me with love and kindness and even went out of his way most times to make sure I lived a good life.
• He was a father to me – a good father. His conscious commitment to giving me a good life fueled the flames of gossip about him having an extramarital affair that produced me but he never hated me and he never let that stop him from showing up for me.
• News of his accident shook me to my core. He had been summoned by the Alpha King and gotten into a fatal accident on his way to the palace. It was a hit-and-run and by the time I got to the hospital, I feared the worst.
