Chapter 19

• Bree had been waiting for over a week now. She was so anxious, so utterly desperate in her absence of action, that she explored entire extension of the forest in the first two days. Then she made a new cottage from the ground up in less than six hours. Granted she used her recently learned skills and that allowed her to work for more than ten minutes without passing out from exhaustion, but still. Impressive work.
• The days were filled with both useful and useless tasks she performed mostly to keep her mind occupied, because with the slightest hint of idleness, she would spiral down the path of misery due to his absence. If she had any idea how much she would miss him, she probably would have thought it through before leaving. But she hadn’t.
• She left without saying anything, and now he could come looking for her or he could not. Why would he, anyway? Who leaves after everything they shared, all the amazing things they’d done together? And then there was that incredible night, and the way he touched her… she desperately needed another task.
