Chapter 58

• NATALIE’S P. O. V
• I swirled on the bed and stood up. I was becoming uncomfortable and I also didn’t want to get any more sleep. I walked to the door and opened it. I was going to grab a bottle of water from the kitchen and drink. So, I began to make my way towards the kitchen and when I got there, I saw Maverick with his back to me. At first I didn’t know what he was doing so I stood and watched him. I saw him gulp the first glass of liquor and then the second, the third and the fourth. I was surprised. I know I had seen a bottle of whisky in his office before but well, I haven’t seen him as that much of a drinker. And the fact that it was whisky, something was definitely going on with him. I would have turned around and walked back to the room or just grabbed the water and ran back inside. But what made me wait couldn’t be explained by me or anyone. But I decided to wait to see what he would do next.
• Then he poured out another glass and was going to probably drown it like he did the rest but I couldn’t just stand and watch him do so. I was scared or worried something might happen, and because I haven’t seen anyone gulp whisky that way.
