Chapter 55

• MAVERICK’S P. O. V
• I stepped out of the bathroom to meet a wide awake Natalie on the bed and on her phone. She was seated upright with her legs crossed over each other. I was very surprised and shocked. Was she awake all along while I sat beside her and tucked her hair? Did she see me when I stepped into the shower? I couldn’t fathom all that, because like how long does it take a sleeping person to wake up? Wasn’t she sleeping like seconds ago? Was she pretending the whole time? I stood still confused looking at her, trying to understand when she woke up exactly.
• “Hey,” I said, alerting her from her phone. Of course she didn’t know I was in there. Her eyes lit up like fire, she looked scared too. I didn’t know what exactly was always scary about me, she looked scared most of the time. She didn’t speak, she just stared at me. She obviously hasn't seen anyone that handsome. I smiled coyly to myself. I liked the way she looked at me, I loved that she was puzzled by staring at my body. I stood there and let her enjoy the view to her satisfaction. I don’t know how long it took but all through she didn’t speak, guess I was too much for her to take in. I swallowed and walked closer to the bed with my clothes in my hand.
