Chapter 35

• NATALIE'S P.O.V
• The noise of a dog barking woke me up, I don't know if it was in my dream or if I heard the bark in real life. I didn't remember seeing any dog when I arrived, and I didn't know Maverick would have a dog, he didn't look like a dog lover in any way except it was a stray dog just passing by.
• I don't know how long I slept but I know I slept off while admiring the blue hairy duvet on the bed where I lay. I opened my eyes to realize that I was still in the wedding dress. With the lack of energy unfurling inside me, I managed to drag myself up from the bed. Managing to pull the dress down, I reluctantly stepped into the bathroom to shower. Jane had told me she prepared a bath for me before leaving the room earlier. That was kind of her, especially seeing how well she had prepared my bath. There was a glass of wine on the bathtub edge and soaps lined in for me. It's not like I was going to use all the soaps at once. The bathroom was painted all white just like the rest of the house, it was big, a lot bigger than my bathroom at home, there was a bathtub and a step-in shower, mine didn't have a bathtub, it was just a step shower bathroom. I love the place already, at least my precarious heart will see a way to find solace amidst the uncertain trauma and fury that may unfold.
