Chapter 76
- Emma's POV
- When I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was the ceiling—ornate, gilded, and unmistakably mine. The faint scent of sandalwood mixed with something sharper, metallic almost, lingered in the room. My room. I was in my room, lying on my bed, the silk sheets tangled around me.
- For a moment, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling. That unbearable pain in my chest—the one that had been tearing me apart for days—was gone. Completely. I pressed a hand to my chest, expecting to feel something, but there was nothing. No ache. No sharp stabs. Just... nothing.
