- John had told me earlier that Alpha Darius of the Shadow Fang Pack would be paying a visit today. His tone, laced with excitement, made my stomach churn. When I asked him why Darius was coming, he leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper.
- “I heard he’s here to propose an alliance,” he said, his face lighting up like it was the best news we’d had in months.
