• I was sitting in my office, reviewing a few documents, when Clark walked in, announcing Tabitha’s arrival. A smile tugged at the corner of my lips. "Good. Bring her in," I instructed, and he hurried out. Today was going to be interesting, I could feel it in my bones. I was going to enjoy every moment of it.
• Within a minute, a knock echoed from the door. "Come in," I called. The door opened, and there she stood. My gaze immediately locked onto the scar running across her face, and I couldn’t suppress a smirk. "Have a seat," I gestured to the chair across from me. "Can I offer you a drink?" I asked, the words casual but pointed.
