- I stormed out of my office, clutching my chest as the pain twisted inside me like a relentless blade. I didn’t have time for this crap—not the stabbing ache and certainly not Alpha Darius’s arrogance. He wasn’t just a nuisance; he was a damn menace, and the fact that he thought he could pull stunts in my pack made my blood boil.
- By the time I reached the waiting room, I was ready to tear him apart, but the bastard was gone. The empty room stared back at me mockingly. My patience, already thin, snapped like dry twigs underfoot.
