Chapter 65
- Charlotte was in her office at the hospital, engrossed in her work. The muted hum of medical equipment and the shuffling of nurses just outside her door filled the room with a familiar sense of purpose. She sat across from a middle-aged male patient, clipboard in hand, focused and attentive.
- The man shifted uncomfortably in his seat, fingers clutching at the edge of the examination table.
- “I’ve been getting this pain in my chest,” he began, looking nervous. “It’s kind of tight, right in the middle. It started a few days ago, but today it got a lot worse. Almost like someone’s pressing down hard.”
