Chapter 17
- I knew I had to face my parents now. I was fully aware that I had disappointed them, and soon I'd have to confront them about it. But before that, I needed to settle a few things. I had sold my bike to pay back Mike, whose money my brother Brian had borrowed. Mike had been bullying Brian ever since he found out about the debt, and I promised Brian that I would take care of it. So, I did what I had to do.
- As I walked home on foot, returning the money, I spotted Brian standing in front of our house, looking anxious.
- “Hey, what’s going on?” I asked, trying to sound casual despite the anxiety bubbling inside me.
