• “I can’t just sit here like this anymore!” Eva suddenly shot up from her seat. She couldn’t endure another moment of the anxiety that had gripped her for twelve hours. Not even Peter’s hand squeezes, hugs, or comforting words could chase away the torment gnawing at her soul. It felt like her spirit was picking up a distress signal from her only son, fighting for his life on the operating table.
• “Where are you going?” Peter asked, standing quickly, his face etched with worry as he stared at his wife.
