• “It’s alright to talk here, isn’t it, Mrs. Rebecca?” Edeline asked, feeling slightly uneasy as she led Rebecca into her office. They sat across from each other, the desk between them acting as a polite barrier.
• “This is actually better. Otherwise, I might get in trouble for kidnapping you during work hours,” Rebecca joked with a faint laugh.
• Edeline chuckled in return, though her heart was pounding nervously. She was well aware she was stealing time from her duties, and she feared ending up in yet another mess after yesterday’s gossip storm among her colleagues.
