Chapter 12 A Good Man?

• The slam of the door was the only answer to Sarah’s question. She was utterly ignored by Elvis, whose attention remained fixed on the girl inside the presidential suite. Even when Sarah’s grip on his arm tightened in desperate restraint, her plea was met with a painful response.
• Elvis shook her hand off without even glancing at her. He didn’t care about Sarah’s begging or her pitiful tears. His indifference cut her deeply, humiliating her to the core. Bitterness instantly poisoned her heart as she turned her hatred toward the girl who had stolen all of Elvis’s attention.
• Sarah trembled with fury, her body shaking as she studied the unfamiliar woman. Then recognition struck. That face—she remembered it clearly. The girl who had helped her a while ago. But why was she here, in Elvis’s room? Was she working with Elvis from the very beginning to disgrace her that night?
