Chapter 21 The Sudden Return

• Why did she have to be involved again with people connected to Elvis? Was Elvis the owner of this city or something? How could it be that everyone Edeline met somehow had ties to that arrogant, sharp-tongued man?!
• She didn’t know. All Edeline wanted was to disappear right then and there. She wanted to run as far as possible so she wouldn’t have to deal with the man who thought so little of her. At one point she even felt like giving up and no longer caring about anything.
• But she couldn’t. Edeline didn’t want to disappoint Abraham. The businessman had done so much to help her become a doctor and get her internship at Elvis’s hospital. If she made mistakes now and ruined herself, her path to becoming a specialist would be delayed, maybe even cut off entirely.
