• The room felt cold. Lexie tucked herself into the bed feeling restless. Her thoughts kept going back and forth, as if there might be something she was missing. It’s been an unsteady couple of days. Ever since their last attack on the Dark Hollow pack went south, her head has been full of trying to think of another way to get to them and also make the allies work with her again. It won’t be a surprise if they curse her out and warn her to stay away from them.
• All the spoils she promised they would have appear to be slipping farther away from them. Lexie sat up abruptly, clenching her fist in anger.
