• Irene’s POV
• The silence that went on through the night until dawn was deafening. It made the thoughts in my head too loud for me to comprehend and my heart raced in anticipation of trouble ahead. My ears perked at every slight noise. Sleep had ceased to evade me hours ago, my ears were as sharp as my whole body.
• I can’t stop thinking about the coming attack. With the Blood Moon pack troops joining in, it will be quite a long day. I really wish I could understand why there is so much heat from the packs. What exactly could Lexie have told them to make them pull all of their resources to ruin us? If this war must end, it is time I know what the source of the problem is. Peace might not be drawn from it, but at least to know how best to handle my enemies.
