Karson’s POV
If looks could kill, I would have Lucas buried deep in the earth with no chance of escape for him. Watching Irene leave with him makes my heart heavy. Jealousy burned in my chest so visibly that I could feel my wound ache. I do not like them being so close together. I try not to imagine what they might be up to when they are far from my sight.
Irene was right about me not being agile enough to accompany her, but I wouldn’t have minded if she gave me the green light to come with her. I do not enjoy being sidelined by her. It’s as if she is doing everything to keep a distance between us. I am upset at her determination to avoid me even after everything we have been through lately.
