• "Humans?" I echoed, my gaze fixed on Kristina. "You think people are actually living in the heart of a Brute rogue mountain?"
• "Yes, we believe so!" Zara snapped beside her. "And since I was the one who smelled them, I don't think you should be directing your questions at her. I realize it's a bit odd, but they're not wolves. They smell... different, I guess. I don't spend a lot of time around humans, so I'm not the best judge of normal."
