• I just stand in the wide driveway, staring up at the sprawling building with its tall windows gleaming in the weak sunlight. My heart is restless, thudding unevenly in my chest. Somewhere behind those walls, Jeremy is hiding—or at least, that’s how it feels.
• After speaking with Jace, I went looking for him in his room but he's not there. I checked the game room, the bar areas, the balcony. Could he be hiding from me? Like Jace, does Jeremy think I'm in love with Bruce?
