- Sheila: A Poisoned Night
- A sharp knock startles me out of my drifting thoughts. I glance at the clock beside my bed: it is nearly midnight. My body aches from the long day with my clothier, final fittings and tiny alterations, but at least my dress is ready. She promised to deliver it tomorrow, the morning of Jace and Alina’s wedding. The thought of attending the wedding still makes my chest ache, so I’d planned to sleep early, to numb myself until dawn.
- Another knock follows, this time more insistent.
