Chapter 27 Old Memories, Old Itches

• Everyone except Alina and Brady stops chewing. Of course, I continue chewing, relishing the sweet juice of the venison on my palate. The sauce tastes heavenly. I can taste a blend of parsley and the smell of lemon grass which may have been used to sauté it.
• Jeremy is the first to resume eating. He gets busy cutting his meat into pieces. There’s a faint smile on his lips as he battles the meat. Jace picks his glass, his manner smooth. When Alina looks at him again, she smiles, obviously missing the uneasy moment that just passed. Brady is eating chocolate—that boy eats so much chocolate, I imagine his stomach crawls with a colony of germs.
