Chapter 40 Forty

• Everyone wanted to be my friend. Everyone wanted to talk to me but I could feel myself withdrawing back each time any of them came close to me. Maybe it was because of my past experience but yes, I don't really like people.
• When I met Troy and started working with him in his vineyard, at first, it was hard mingling with people because I was not used to receiving nice smiles and kindness. With time I started getting used to it but it was different from the way people viewed me now.
• Many of them were not sincere when they said they wanted to be my friend. Ninety percent of them wanted the benefit that came with being friends with a princess and others wanted to brag to their other friends that they were my friend. Others wanted me because their families sent them here to build connections and having me as a close friend was beneficial in the long run.
