Chapter 20 Twenty'
- My parents refused to tell me anything about our pack. They kept saying “you’ll see” whenever I asked them any questions pertaining to my lineage. According to them, they wanted me to see everything for myself. It was frustrating not knowing what I would see, but it made me excited all the same. I did not have many expectations either because I did not want to dream too high and get a broken back when I fall because my expectations were bigger than what I discovered.
- The maids and guards kept their distance from us and when they were near, they kept bowing to me and no matter how much I tried to stop them, it was all to no avail. My parents also discouraged me and asked that I do not stop them. They said I needed to get used to it because that’s how they will keep bowing to me for the rest of my life.
- Life was so strange. I spent all my life bowing to others and now, my life has changed and others are now bowing to me. I wish Joel were here with me. I wonder what he would say about all of this. I wish that I could ask my family to help me get him, but I doubt that they had the power to do it, and I was not sure Joel would want to leave his pack. He was not treated badly there, like me.
