Chapter 23 Three

• We were all seated at the table and were supposed to have started eating but someone was missing. Eva was nowhere to be found and even after father asked a maid to go ask her to hurry up, Eva did not come down.
• “What’s going on with her? Is she okay?” Mother asked with a worried look on her face as she tried to stand up so that she could go and check on Eva.
• Simon stopped her from fully leaving her seat, “She is fine, mother. I’m sure she is turning her closet upside down and trying to look for the best gown to wear to welcome Sophia. I saw her this morning and she was really nervous,”
