Chapter 19 An Unexpected Visitor

• The next few days were mainly spent with Vadim making sure that Ekaterina was well taken care of and she somehow wished that she could remain ill for a little longer, she really loved the attention but she definitely refused to admit it. She also was not ready to admit that she had developed a small crush on Vadim. He was really going out of his way to make sure she was OK, even neglecting his duties as Alpha and that was something a lot of people who were close to her, some of which were even family, wouldn't do for her.
• Take the man who she called father for example. To him, she was apparently no different from the goods that his company manufactured. He had neglected her most of her life and never treated her like his daughter, despite marrying her mother. The only time that she had gone to him for help, he had taken advantage of the opportunity and used it to entrap her, forcing her into a marriage which was basically the same thing as selling her to the highest bidder. Even when she had been little and still lived in his mansion, he never cared if she was sick. The only thing he did was make sure that she was provided with good medical attention and after that, he would never even care to check up on her. He was also never there to watch her get better, he was always at his company, making money.
• She had long ruled love out of the equation of their relationship. The only relationship that seemingly existed between them was that of materialism. She bore his name and with that, she could get most of what she wanted but she could only do that if she obeyed him and did everything he said, just like the doll he had always treated her like.
