- The rain battered down relentlessly, a continuous deluge that transformed the world into a relentless cascade of water and sound. Thunder rumbled intermittently, its deep growl echoing the unyielding rhythm of the storm. Floodwaters pooled around the camp, merging with fallen leaves and debris, turning the roads into slick, treacherous paths.
- By mid-afternoon, the storm had relented. The clouds parted, revealing a sky washed clean but still overcast. Emerging from my tent, I scanned the area for my hosts. It dawned on me that they were probably rogues, as today didn’t belong to any pack. Their makeshift camp was set up in a remote corner of the woods.
