Chapter 73
- Lucian’s POV
- Having no choice but to involve the authorities, I drove to the police station, my heart heavy with dread. The sorrow I felt was deep and suffocating, mixing with a nagging sense of helplessness as I tried to clear the mental fog clouding my mind. Aurora was missing, and time seemed to slip away with every passing second.
- As I entered the station, the lobby was stark and cold, a glass partition creating a barrier between me and the officer at the desk. His expression was one of detached disinterest, a man who seemed to have long lost any enthusiasm for his job. I wiped the sweat trickling down my neck with a handkerchief, trying to steady my racing heart. “Excuse me,” I began, forcing my voice to remain steady despite the panic gnawing at my insides. “I need to report a missing person. My girlfriend, Aurora, has gone missing.”
