• Aurora’s POV
• I looked around for Mark, expecting him to be nearby, but he was nowhere to be found. His level-headedness always made me rate him higher than Lucian. Mark was the logical one, and although he wasn't romantically interested in me, he cared deeply about my well-being. Despite his absence from the party, he had already figured out that Alec was the one who attacked me and called to apologize—something Lucian would never do in a million years.
• I often wondered how different things would be if the moon goddess had given me Mark as my mate. It would have been a dream come true, considering how perfect he was in both looks and attitude. I struggled to find any flaws in him, unlike Lucian, who had a surplus of them. Lucian might be better looking to me because of our bond, but his assholishness made it difficult for me to look past his appearance.
