Chapter 31

  • Aurora’s POV
  • The sun reflected on the clear water of the lake. Birds sang, the wind rustled the leaves, and I loved the gentle splash of the waves. It was my second day staying here. I shut my eyes and breathed deeply, letting go of all my worries and stress, glad I decided to come to the wildlife conservation center. It had been a long time since I felt this peaceful and relaxed, and I enjoyed the moment and the place as much as I could.
  • I smiled when I spotted a deer drinking from the shore and a squirrel climbing a tree. Calmness washed over me. This, I thought to myself, was what life was all about. I needed to be healthy and mentally ready before facing humans again.
