• Aurora’s POV
• My eyelids drooped with fatigue as I slumped into my office chair. It was barely past midday, and the only thing I craved was sleep. Despite my efforts to stave off exhaustion with endless cups of coffee, it seemed like a losing battle. The caffeine buzz wasn’t enough, and I found myself constantly moving around, applying layer after layer of concealer to hide the dark circles under my eyes.
• Mark’s voice snapped me back to reality. I jolted up from my seat, giving my cheeks a quick slap to try and shake off the drowsiness before making my way to his office. Mark was perpetually busy, and I hadn't seen Lucian at all that morning.
