• The man’s body twisted with a sickening crunch, releasing a deep, rumbling growl as he shifted into a massive, bristling wolf. He was enormous, a mountain of muscle and fur, but I did not back down.
• My wolf stirred, eager for the fight. “I’ll take it from here,” she whispered in my mind. I shook my head. No. We would do this together. I felt her sharp, warm approval. As one, we faced the huge wolf and I let the change roll through me.
