• Dex steps closer, his presence surrounding me before he even touches me. His hands rest gently at my sides, and the closeness between us makes my chest tighten. My heart beats faster, every breath coming slower, heavier.
• I glance down, my eyes catching the shape of his arms beneath his shirt. His muscles flex slightly as his hands hold me, and I feel my thoughts blur. Desire rises like a tide I can’t stop. I lift my hands, almost without thinking, and trace my fingers over his skin. The warmth of him burns into my fingertips as I outline the curve of his arms, feeling the power beneath them.
