• He caught me and eased me back onto the bed. A shiver slid down my spine as the thought of what was coming settled in. His body was hard against mine, so hard there was a dark mark on his sweatpants. This was it. That had to be it.
• The expectation sat heavy in my chest. He would strip, press me down, and take what we both wanted. Instead, he dropped to his knees, and the change stole my breath. Both hands slipped under my thighs, drawing me closer until my hips rested at the edge of the mattress. Warm palms moved slowly up my legs, then pushed them apart as he stepped between them.
