• When the shadows rush toward me, I lift my hands and push them away with all the strength I have. A soft glow spreads around me, bright and silver like the moon, wrapping me in a shield of light. The vampires hiss and back away, fear flashing in their dark eyes. Behind me, I see Dex fighting alongside the Silver Crescent Pack, his shadows slicing through the air to protect everyone. But I can’t stay focused on that, not when I see Linda standing across the room.
