Chapter 29
- LYDIA
- “What do we have here?” I whisper to myself, my fingers brushing over the cover. “A little glimpse into the Lydia of the past?”
- As soon as I open it, a small photograph slips out from between the ink-filled pages. It flutters to the floor, and when I pick it up, my breath catches. It’s a picture of Dex and me, of course. He’s lying on his bed, and the photo looks like it was taken from above. His lips are pressed to my cheek, his smile soft, his eyes closed. His dark hair is messy, like he had just woken up, and one of his hands is wrapped around my waist while the other sneaks beneath my shirt.
