• Their growls were no match for mine. At that moment I was both furious and heartbroken. My eyes locked onto the wolf that killed the boy, the boy whose name I never learned. I stepped forward, then ran straight at it as the others charged from behind.
• With good force, I leaped off the ground and caught a low branch. I pulled myself up to sit on it. They gathered below, snarling. I waited for them to make the next move. As stupid as one was, it did jump toward me. I quickly snapped a thick limb from above and drove it down as the wolf rose. The wood pierced its chest. It fell back to the ground with a heavy thud.
