• Diana gaped at Orion, her mind blank as a clean sheet of paper. It was as though all her coherent thoughts had finally left her. The pain on her injured head didn’t even register anymore as if the shock had managed to make Diana numb.
• But not numb enough to not feel the way her heart was wildly pounding her chest or the way her breathing got labored in a puzzling mixture of anger, panic and confusion.
