Chapter 13 Wilfredo's Weapons
- When the stone arch entrance to the Capitol Square came into view, Alistair finally seemed to deem it was time for him to grace Diana with his chivalric manners. He paused to slightly turn and face her, reaching out a hand as an invitation.
- Diana glanced at the hand for a moment, then brought her eyes back to meet Alistair’s. He must’ve sensed her hesitation from that little act, because he dropped his hand back to his side, closed the good distance between them, and claimed Diana’s hand in his.
- His touch was warm and gentle. Too gentle as though had traces of uncertainty and self-doubt behind the impeccable nonplussed façade he had.
