• With a heart that galloped wildly in her chest, Diana burst out of the inn. Her blood, which had gone cold and heavy, rushed to her ears as she frantically looked for Serena.
• And as she searched the perimeter, her feet moved with little to no grace on the ground, which was still wet and slightly muddy from the rain that had come in sheets earlier in the night. There were even little puddles here and there, but Diana paid them no mind as she continued to look for Serena.
• But even as she circled the area with adrenaline coursing thickly in her veins, she didn’t get even the slightest glimpse of the woman she was certain she saw from inside the inn.
