Chapter 41 The Hero

• Diana’s heart nearly leapt out of her throat. Unconsciously, she took a step back, wary of the arrival of the foreign wolf.
• She took another step back just as the other wolf walked closer to her with a snarl.
• Fear slowly gripped Diana, its tendrils slithering around her limbs and leaving her frozen on her spot. The only thing that didn’t seem to be still was her heart that wildly drummed inside her. She only had half a mind to wonder how the wolf managed to get past the layers and layers of protective wards surrounding the property without alerting Alaric of its presence.
