Chapter 42 The Second Wolf
- When Diana regained consciousness, she was back in her room in the cottage, tucked safely under the warm comfort of her bed. A pounding ache plagued her head, but even so, she brought herself up into a sitting position.
- A searing pain zapped every muscle of her body, even though she kept her movement slow and careful. Each fiber of her being was screaming at her to stay still. But she needed to get her bearings and learn what had happened to her.
- The door slowly swung open, and in came Alaric, who was carrying a tray with a few phials, a glass of ice cold water, and a bowl, which Diana assumed to contain warm soup.
