Chapter 64 Outside The Inn

  • Diana startled on her spot as she instantly slammed the diary shut. Her heart had nearly lurched out of her chest in sheer surprise from Alistair’s sudden question, his gruff and sleep-ladened voice ringing loud against the stillness of the night.
  • “You scared me,” Diana breathed out, sagging against the bed’s headboard. “Please don’t do that again.”
  • “Then perhaps you shouldn’t be mumbling to yourself so late in the night,” Alistair pointed out, sounding a little more than amused. He laid on his side to properly face Diana, propping his head up with his clenched fist against his temple. “You ought to be asleep now, Diana. If our journey goes without a hitch tomorrow, we’ll be arriving at Wolfshire by mid or late afternoon.”
