Chapter 73

• We got back to the Bennett mansion a little late past Eleven pm, Alex was already fast asleep by the time we reached home. There had been a strange silence between us on the way back, mostly because of the emotional conversation we had over dinner.
• I couldn’t say it back. I couldn’t tell him that I love him, I really tried but my heart remained skeptical of what could go wrong. As much as I craved it, I wasn’t ready for this.
• Going up the stairs, Ethan walked me down to my room. “Thank you for dinner, it was beautiful.” I said with a small smile as I turned to face him.
