• “Are you trying to steal my child away from me?” Lily snapped, pretending to be mad as if she had any right to. “You don’t have the right!”
• I let out a sharp breath, shaking my head in disbelief. “Alex stopped being your son the day you abandoned him. You didn’t write. You didn’t call. You didn’t even care if he was dead or alive. You have no claim over him.” My voice was low, controlled, but firm. “And if you try to take this to court, you and I both know you’ll lose.”
