• I sat in the sterile, uncomfortable waiting room of the hospital, my eyes darting over the white walls and overly bright fluorescent lights. James sat beside me, engrossed in his phone, unaware of the thoughts swirling in my mind.
• Then, my phone buzzed in my purse. I jumped slightly, the sound catching me off guard. I glanced down at the screen and froze. Stephen Diaz. Just seeing his name made my heart race. My mind instantly flashed back to that kiss!
• I hesitated. I wanted to ignore it, to not answer, but I knew I had to stay professional. I had agreed to take his case and that makes him my client. With a deep breath, I swiped the screen to answer.
