Chapter 83
- The walls of the room felt suffocating. All my body aches from the beatings I got from the guards, they beat me up mercilessly as ordered by Kelly. My eyes are swollen, my ribs, all hurting. My head also aches. The darkness pressed in around me, making it harder to breathe, harder to think. I could still hear the echoes of Kelly’s laughter in my mind—the cruel, taunting sound as she and her men left. The weight of it all, dug deep into my chest. My skin burned with anger, a fire I could never fully extinguish.
- "How could she...?" I whispered to no one. "How could she do this to me? not even remembering for a second the friendship we had built"
- I slammed my fist into the ground, frustration rising in my throat. Every day it felt like I was drowning. My wolf—my wolf—was nothing more than a useless, broken part of me. Always hiding, always failing to protect me when I needed it most. It was supposed to be my strength. It was supposed to be my salvation. But it was always silent, always too weak.
