• The voice echoed in the quiet, like a shadow clinging to the edges of my mind. It wasn’t a sound I could easily forget. I turned quickly, trying to pinpoint its source, but there was nothing there. The clearing was empty except for Kelvin and me.
• “Did you hear that?” I whispered, my heart still pounding from the battle.
