Chapter 13
- The sanctuary pulsed with old magic, as the air was thick with something ancient and unspoken. My legs refused to move, even though I tried hard but Kelvin kept me standing, his grip firm around my waist. Logan stood nearby, rubbing his bruised jaw, as his eyes darted around the dimly lit space.
- “This place… where are we?” I whispered to Kelvin.
- Kelvin hesitated, his golden eyes scanning the shadows and then he spoke up. “A safe house.” “Doesn’t feel safe,” Logan muttered,from where he stood, flexing his fists. “Why do I feel like we just walked into another damn trap?” he added.
