- Slowing her pace, Helena growled, and her Beta looked at her. It was time.
- When they shifted back to their human bodies, they went to a small pond and waited. Shawn seemed restless, and he kept pacing around. The night was cold, but the sky was clear and bright. There was a full moon. Helena gazed at it, her mind filling up with memories of her and her mate together. This all was not futile. She took in a cool breath of air and felt a bit more positive than before.
- “A beautiful night for November, isn't it?” A voice broke the serenity, and they turned, searching for its owner.
